What We're Building

phase two

Family Life Center

To effectively support our growing parish, we must build a new Family Life Center. Our current building lacks the space, facilities, and capacity necessary to fully serve our community’s needs. As our parish continues to expand, the importance of a dedicated space that can accommodate our various activities becomes ever more critical.

The proposed new two-story limestone structure will align beautifully with the quality and design of our other campus buildings, ensuring a cohesive and visually appealing environment. This new center will feature modern meeting rooms and a spacious fellowship hall, designed to be versatile and welcoming. It will serve as a new focal point for our community, a place where we can come together to experience the glory of the Lord in worship and fellowship.

Beyond worship, the Family Life Center will be the heartbeat of our parish activities, events, ministry, and outreach programs. It will be a dynamic space, bustling with life and energy. From Bible study groups and youth activities to community outreach programs and social events, this center will be a hub of activity, fostering growth and connection within our parish.

We envision the Family Life Center as a gathering place where parishioners of all ages can come together as a family of God. It will be a place where children can play and learn, where adults can connect and grow, and where seniors can find companionship and support. It will be a space that nurtures relationships, strengthens our faith community, and allows us to engage with one another in meaningful ways.

Our goal is to begin construction in 2025. To achieve this, we need the support and commitment of our entire parish family. Your contributions will not only help us build a new structure but will also invest in the future of our community. Together, we can create a space that will serve as the foundation for our parish’s growth for generations to come.

With your help, we know this vision can become a reality. Let us join hands and hearts to build a Family Life Center that will be a source of pride and inspiration for our parish, a place where we can all come together to celebrate our faith and our community.

phase one UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Adoration Chapel & Walkway

We are thrilled to announce that our new Adoration Chapel is moving forward, and it’s all thanks to your unwavering commitment to the project. Construction is now underway, marking a significant milestone in our shared journey of faith. This new sacred space will soon provide us with a serene sanctuary where we can sit in solitude before the Blessed Sacrament, experiencing the immense love Christ has for each of us in an intimate, one-on-one setting. Next to the Sacred Mass, there is nothing more rewarding than spending time in His presence, basking in the peace and grace that only He can provide.

The Adoration Chapel is more than just a physical structure; it is the very heart of our spiritual journey. Here, we can draw closer to Jesus, allowing Him to minister to us in profound and personal ways.

Along with the Adoration Chapel is the new covered walkway that will connect our chapel to the north entrance of the church and school. This thoughtfully designed addition will provide much-needed protection during days of inclement weather and the intense Texas heat, particularly aiding those with mobility issues who need to be dropped off. The walkway will include a double-car portico for convenient pull-under access, ensuring safe and comfortable entry for all.

Your generosity and dedication have made this vision a reality. As we watch the chapel and walkway take shape, we are filled with gratitude and anticipation for the countless moments of prayer, reflection, and transformation that will occur within its walls. Together, we are building a holy space where our community can deepen its relationship with Christ and grow in faith. Construction of the Adoration Chapel and Walkway is expected to be completed in 2024. Thank you for your continued support and for being a vital part of this blessed journey.

What our Parishioners Think

We asked several of our parish families what they like about SEAS and there thoughts on the Capital Campaign.

The Booker Family

How long have you been parishioners?
1 Year

What do you like about Mass at SEAS?
The homilies are often relatable, and we feel as though Father is directly addressing us. His message challenges us and warms our hearts. We also love catching up with our friends after Church.

What excites you about the Building Community for Christ Campaign?
The entire plan is wonderfully ambitious and desperately needed! We are most excited about the Adoration Chapel and the hope of uninterrupted adoration and quiet time with the Lord.

Do you see a need for the new Family Life Center?
Yes. A larger space would be useful and much more comfortable for our ever-growing parish.

As a family, what would you use most at the new Family Life Center?
The coffee bar area sounds like the perfect place to chat with our friends after Mass instead of standing outside.

If there was one thing you could have in the Family Life Center, what would it be?
I would want to make sure the library isn’t forgotten. I love the selection of books we offer for borrowing.

The Piccirilli Family

How long have you been parishioners?
2 1/2 years!

What do you like about Mass at SEAS?
The community put lots of thought into the sanctuary. They really made an effort to keep the space holy and welcoming to families. Our daughter Florence loves to look at the stained glass imagery during mass.

What excites you about the Building Community for Christ Campaign?
Having a smaller chapel for personal prayer and a building to gather more of our community together at the same time.

Do you see a need for the Family Life Center?
Absolutely! Right now we have to choose which members of a family can gather for community and formation. We just don’t have space for the whole family at once.

As a family, what would you use most at the new Family Life Center?
The mail gathering room will definitely be a blessing for the ministries we are involved in. Also the coffee bar!

If there was one thing you could have in the Family Life Center, what would it be?
A library of Catholic resources for personal prayer and study.

The Reynolds Family

How long have you been parishioners?
8 years

What do you like about Mass at SEAS?
I love the respect and reverence that is given to the celebration of the Mass at SEAS.

What excites you about the Building Community for Christ Campaign?
I am excited to see the needs of the parish being met through the new projects.

Do you see a need for the new Family Life Center?

Definitely. Having a space that will accomodate larger and more groups will be nice. Currently only one group can meet in the parish hall. I am looking forward to having different groups fellowship at the same time.

As a family, what would you use most at the new Family Life Center?
I foresee being able to use the new nursery and I also look forward to having more indoor parish-wide events.

If there was one thing you could have in the Family Life Center, what would it be?
I’d love to see comfortable spaces where small groups can meet to grow!

The Stevens Family

How long have you been parishioners?
Since 2001

What do you like about Mass at SEAS?
We love the reverenceof the liturgy and the number of Masses to choose from.

What excites you about the Building Community for Christ Campaign?
We are looking forward to the Adoration Chapel being available to sit in His presence 24-7.

Do you see a need for the Family Life Center?
Absolutely! The Family Life Center is aptly named as it will provide a wide variety of opportunities for the SEAS community to come together. A place to socialize and attend classes, lectures, retreats, musical events, etc. in the coming years is vital for our church family. It will provide a secure space for both Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and childcare. We are involved in a number of ministries and as a cook and self proclaimed foodie, a full kitchen will be most welcome to host many events. We are a large parish that needs this space to make connections, build relationships, and teach the Gospel! We hope that everyone gets behind this effort, because together and with God we can move mountains.

As a family, what would you use most at the new Family Life Center?
We are looking forward to available classrooms for Catechesis and meetings. But we think we will utilize meeting friends at the coffee/tea bar.

If there was one thing you could have in the Family Life Center, what would it be?
An indoor play area for small children where Mothers could meet up and take turns going to adoration.

The Squibbs Family

How long have you been parishioners?
Since 1990.

What do you like about Mass at SEAS?
It all begins for our family with reverence at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. You know God is Present as you walk into Heaven on Earth. The bells, smells, and sounds piping through the organ.

What excites you about the Building Community for Christ Campaign?
Access to Our Lord and Savior through the Adoration Chapel. We are excited, yet nervous thinking of the 336 hours that will need to be filled each week, but we know our local community is ready to step up. The fruits, as shown in other communities with perpetual adoration, are bountiful. A community focused on spending time with our Lord, when the world wants us anywhere but, will lead more to Him (including clergy and religious)!

Do you see a need for the Family Life Center?
The Lord is at work in our local Catholic community, which can be seen anytime you stop by the parish. This is with the space limitations that lead to restrictions in scheduling more events for community building and catechesis for any stage of your personal and family’s journey. Simply put, we need more space.

As a family, what would you use most at the new Family Life Center?
Where to start?! The classrooms for various prayer and bible study groups. Filling up the main hall for Men’s Adoration, Prayer, and Service (M.A.P.S.), Women in Christ (W.I.C), the annual Chili Cook Off, Daddy-Daughter dance, etc.

If there was one thing you could have in the Family Life Center, what would it be?
A state-of-the-art sound and light setup for national speaker conferences, concerts, and theatre productions.
